SUNSHINE & HARMONY HEALING

Sammie-Jo Sunshine Aiello is a ray of golden light, passionate about healing herself and inspiring those around her to access their highest selves. New York State born and raised, Sammie grew up in a small town about an hour and a half north of the Big Apple. City life was more of a draw to her in her teenage years but as she grew and evolved - nature began to call to her more and more potently each year.

She attended undergraduate school at Roger Williams University, studying International Relations with a minor in Political Science. She realized over the course of the four years that the anthropological track was more her style, as she gravitated towards learning about indigenous cultures and the land itself. Shifting more into a mindset of sustainability.

With this new shift in mindset and college coming to a close, Sammie was unsure of what to do next in her life, as many are as they finish a major chapter in their lives. Upon arriving home, Sammie discovered Reiki energy healing and her Reiki Master, Wendy. As she worked with Wendy she began to develop her own intuition and most importantly the confidence to begin to plant the seeds for her own role as a healer.

After being attuned to Reiki level 1 in 2016, everything began to shift and change. Anything that was out of alignment with the Reiki principles would soon fall away. Sammie attempted to get by in different office jobs and found out one by one that none were a true fit. In fall of 2017, it dawned on her to pursue massage school and expand on her healing gifts. By February of 2018, she was enrolled and embarked on the most life changing journey she would have to date: massage school.

Sammie attended Finger Lakes School of Massage for the February 2018 Flex program, a part time program spanning over the course of 17 months consisting of 1000 hours of massage and hydrotherapy training. The knowledge, support and tools she integrated during this time were invaluable to her success as a therapist and also a functioning human in society. Massage School helped facilitate not only her career, but a new way of life that would support this very special but intense profession.

It was during this time that she began working at Yoga Culture and truly began her yoga practice. She met her yoga mentor, Kathy Daigneault and formed a relationship with her that would last years to come. Sammie dove deeply into her yoga practice, and as the pandemic arose she would meet her mat five times a week, every week for months. This structure kept her afloat during a time of uncertainty and served as a cornerstone of her personal healing.

After completing massage school and passing both the New York State boards and MBLEX examinations, the pandemic hit. In the meantime, Sammie was initiated into the second level of Reiki energy healing: the level designed to render full healing services to others. Divine timing at work, once more. She then received training in Cupping Therapy and began to work in fall of 2020 as pandemic precautions began to ease. It was around this time also that she decided to pursue yoga teacher training and once she was done, none other than Kathy asked her to come teach alongside of her at her new studio.

She would continue to build her career as a massage therapist as an independent contractor, building her skill set and clientele for the next 2 years before she opened her own location under her original business name, Sunshine and Harmony Healing in Ridgefield, Connecticut in January of 2023. A venture that was not entirely planned and was put together in a month’s time but ended up being extremely successful, gathering 25 monthly members from its inception to its closing, 11 months.

In this time she took a Thai Table Massage training immersive with Diana Seiler, an instructor from Finger Lakes that Sammie had as a teacher and loved. She spent the weekend intensive deeply immersed in presence and heart healing, learning the art of Thai Massage along a beautiful assortment of other body workers.

In October of 2023, Sammie-Jo found her soulmate in a local man on Maui and fell in love. After having been to the island several times and having a preexisting love for it, it was obvious to her that Mother Maui was making her call to Sammie-Jo to stay. Sammie, at this point in her life knows better than to say no to those types of calls.

And so she begins again. In Makawao, Hawaii with her love. Where the road will lead, we’re not sure. But we trust it will be filled with Sunshine, Harmony & Healing.
